Cody Brown meets David Woolley and it’s awkward AF

An introduction will take place next Sunday night on Sister Wives.

In a sneak peek released by Us Weekly, show patriarch Cody Brown meets his ex-wife’s boyfriend for the first time… and it goes exactly as you’d expect it to.

During a Valentine’s Day themed family gathering, Christine Brown starts the big moment after Cody and Robin Brown walk into the house and, really, there’s no other choice.

“How’s it going?” David Woolley says in the clip, to which Kody replies: “David, nice to meet you. [I‘m] Cody.”

Christine, of course, has been Kody’s spiritual sister for over 20 years. She ended the relationship in November 2021.

The current season of Sister Wives, however, was filmed many years ago…hence the first time Woolley meets Kody in this future episode, despite the fact that Woolley and Christine were married in October 2023.

After Christine introduces David to Robyn on the November 10 episode, Kody gets right into it.

“How long have you been together?” he asks.

“A month and a half,” Christine replies, noting that she’s only known David for a little while longer.

“Did you see the kids? Do you know the children?’ Cody then asks, referring to his and Christine’s six children and grandchildren.

“She met everybody,” Christine reveals, which seems to have gotten under her ex-husband’s skin because he didn’t realize the relationship was that serious.

It gets even more awkward when Cody and Christine’s daughter Mikelti chimes in, telling her father that Wooley “babyed them by himself while we went and got pedicures.

Woolley ends up giving Kody and Robyn a piece of his story.

“I’m used to a lot of kids. I will have 10 grandchildren. I have eight children,” he explains. “I’ve been around polygamy all my life. I’m used to a lot of guys. The big teams don’t bother me at all.”

Following their brief back-and-forth, Woolley sits down for a confessional and recalls the tension he felt with Kody.

“The first thing he said was, ‘I heard you were holding my grandchildren.’ And Michelti says, “Well, he did more than that, he made them babies,” David tells Christine of his conversation with Cody, claiming:

“He got really red in the face.”

Kody didn’t reveal any embarrassment, but noted the following on air:

“What was interesting is that David made more eye contact with Robin and talked to Robin a lot more than I did.”

Christine and David recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary, with the father-of-eight calling their relationship “one hell of a ride”.

“I was in Sedona a couple of weeks ago, it’s really, really beautiful there, just like that [Christine] it is. I’m so glad he found me and stalked me,” David captioned his Oct. 15 post, which included a selfie of the couple.

“He is the most thoughtful, caring, loving person. I’m enjoying this ride and I just want to keep riding.”
