Celebrity Facialist Shani Darden Shares How To Avoid Puffiness And Breakouts While On Vacation
Shine wherever you go! Celebrity fashionista Shani Darden is known for keeping it like the Hollywood stars Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Chrissy Teigen, Kelly Rowland, Say Mitchell, Emmy Rossum and more look flawless, and now he’s telling ET how you can do the same wherever you are — or go.
As the holiday and travel season approaches, Darden shared her tips for maintaining glowing skin before, during and after the flight.
Before you get on a plane, Shani Darden Skincare founder recommends following a regimen filled with high-quality products tailored to your specific skincare needs.
“Start with it Cleansing serumwhich is a gentle cleanser with hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin, oat bran to balance moisture levels and olive extract to soothe irritation or inflammation. Then use iS Clinical’s Pro-Heal Serum to protect the skin and offset the effects of oxidative stress,” he says.
“For extra hydration, use it Moisture Boost Plumping Serum and Intensive renewal eye cream. Finish me off Supergoop’s Play Everyday SPFwhich is one of my favorite sunscreens. It’s moisturizing but non-congestive and has SPF 50,” adds Darden.
When you’re in the air, the skincare guru suggests incorporating a few essentials as you sit back, relax and enjoy your flight.
“I always travel with mine Face Sculpting Stick and to use it when on board. It really helps to neutralize puffiness from flying and will keep your face sculpted. I also usually wear eye masks to keep my under eyes hydrated. Once I remove the eye masks, I put on my eye cream and I like to use it with the wand to help the product penetrate deeper,” she shares.
Then it’s time to reapply your sunscreen.
“When traveling by plane, UV rays are much stronger, so it’s essential to keep yourself protected.… UV rays can penetrate clouds, windows, etc. Sunscreen is essential to keep your skin healthy” , Darden notes.
Once you arrive at your destination, the beautician suggests rejuvenating your skin with Triple Acid Signature Peel.
“It’s the perfect chemical exfoliator to achieve a studio-level glow at home and something I always rely on to keep my skin glowing and my pores clear. Follow me Moisture Boost Plumping Skinthat leaves the skin supple and radiant while nourishing it with snow mushrooms and glycerin.”
And even if you’ve landed in a cold climate, it’s essential to keep SPF on hand.
“Everyone is always trying to reverse the signs of ageing, however, you can prevent brown spots, discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles by protecting your skin from sun exposure, which includes wearing sunscreen regardless of the weather,” explains Darden.
Finally, don’t let your jet lag get to you before you finish your nightly routine.
“Clean again and add it Retinol Reform, which is the go-to serum I recommend to all my clients to keep their skin glowing between facials. … Follow with moisturizing serum and eye cream again. Then apply it Peptide moisturizing cream to provide deep hydration and support your skin’s barrier,” she spills.
To boost your skincare goals throughout your journey, the Déesse Pro LED Light Mask is key.
“It’s a quick 10-minute treatment with clinically proven wavelengths of red, blue and near-infrared light to stimulate the cellular response to clear mild to moderate acne, target pigmentation and visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles. … It produces amazing results when used consistently,” reveals Darden.
